Klodin Erb. Vorhang fällt Hund bellt (publication)

On the occasion of Klodin Erb’s solo exhibition at the Aargauer Kunsthaus, a richly illustrated publication is being released at the intersection of artist’s book and exhibition catalogue. The pages of the publication are split in the middle, allowing for an endless, kaleidoscopic combination of image and text. The book includes in-depth essays by Céline Eidenbenz and Elise Lammer on the work of Klodin Erb, as well as a Dictionnaire – a kind of lexicon – by Swiss writer Eva Seck. As a literary response to Klodin Erb’s visual world, the terms in the publication can be freely combined with the images – in the spirit of cadavre exquis, that surrealist game celebrating the art of chance.

In her contribution, Elise Lammer focuses for the first time on the use of textiles in the artist’s work, while co-curator Céline Eidenbenz explores aspects of transformation and metamorphosis.
